All armors clip one way or another, its not just fow.
Its a problem with how the engine render the armor ontop of the skin.

This is why using any other pants other than the Ancient with the female Ancient trench coat clips.

So FoW or no FoW, Anet should fix armors in general but I do not think that this is a priority to them right now.

Should it be their priority? Should they be attending these armor fixes instead of say, adding our elite mission and working on the "huge" update we're going to be getting? Ohhh N03S! My Ancient Assassin armor has a blade that clips my right leg when I /sit, now my character is crippled!?!

I think that these problems are minimal at best, Anet should (and does, apparently) focus on things that actually affect gameplay.

The necro in that image is showing what alpha-transparent images in GW look like when they're highlighted.

See how the hair of the Elementalist is passing threw the collar the way it should look is either going over, or not show the hair past the top of the collar which I wish that’s the way it would look.

I was not happy when I saw that but what I'm saying that its part of the engine, its not that Anet says "ok these guys spent lots of time farming we need to make the engine render fow armors 100% correctly"
Also I'm not against you saying that its ok that armors clip, I hope they fix that but I'm sure they have lots of other things more important than armor clipping.

I saw those graphic gliches on many armors. Strangely enough, not on mine (maybe other players can see it). I use radeon x1600 pro 512 mb graphic card, so it's not a problem with low quality or something.
Your computer is failing to download the transmap properly, or failing to render the transparency settings properly.

My brother claimed to get something like this after installing the GW client on a new system. After closing the game and relaunching, it fixed itself.

I used to see this error all the time in doing 3D art with multilayered transmaps exported from one 3D app and into another - specifically version 4 of Vue and on down before the 4.1 patch fixed it.

As for poke-through - that's a fact of life in 3D work / animation. Something to fix on a case by case basis in each animation and model. It can be fixed, and it is often not hard to do if you don't care about shape-distortions in the details... but they would have to refix it for every combination of props, animation, figures, and so on...

Which is perfectly justifiable in animation and still image art, and in fact a must do...

But in a game engine, you need speed over detail. At some point, it simply becomes more effective on the game to let the smaller errors go through. Higher priority needs to go to the more common combinations and the more glaring errors.

FoW is a waste, it doesnt hold a candle to 15K Kurz warrior armor or Primevial Armor for NF.
As for graphical glitches, I noticed that occasionaly with ym necros hair and on the hair of other chars. It seems to have fixed itself. I have a 128MB ATi Radeon 9800Pro AGP so its not my l33t card either

How exactly is the Ranger Obsidian Armor clipping? I don't see how it could be, unless you're trying to wear a different set with it.

Ofcourse it's worth that if you wanne have something different from the average 1.5k armor like yours. It won't make you a better player, but it's cool and gives some peeps satisfaction.

Sure, if you prefer batman over a black knight look. Not even gonna comment on primeval. Some fow designs are indeed disapointing but some are not. It's a matter of opinion ofcourse.

Indeed, only prob is you can't play over 80% of the game content with it. You can keep your free armor. One can however play pvp with pve armor. Hence pve armor > pvp armor.

@OP: Can you post a screenshot? A friend of mine has ranger fow and he never complained about it.

heh, if they don't fix stuff like that what makes you think they're going to fix stuff in the Elite mission when it's released. someone who goes through life half-assed ends up living a half-assed life.

There are tons of clipping issues with FoW armor, with all armors really.

Necromancer FoW (male): Clipping at the crotch, piece of armor goes INTO the leg.

Ranger FoW (male, possible female): When doing the /flute command, boot bends in an awful way.

Warrior FoW (male): Chest piece+Arm pieces make NO SENSE when compared to the actual size of the warrior's chest or arms. The hands go from tiny to regular.

Mesmer FoW (male): Guild Capes go into the back of the armor.

And there are tons more...

Hate that too, the back of my Paragons head clips trough the back of his Elonian neck collar when I move.

FoW is all nice in my opinion (except male mesmer :P) and even with the "clipping".. that comes with all armors not just FoW. As for farming that long to get it, it may be an achievment to you but most people found there FoW on e-bay so not many people really go "oh look he has FoW armor wow" like they used to +_+

As for the select them and egt the boxes around the "point-out" parts on some armors that is your computer because one of mine does that and the other doesnt therefor it must be your computer

But as for clipping problems they should all be fixed and tested before release for each COMPLETE armor set, as for people who mix and match there armor i mean they dont really need to sort clipping for that i mean imagine wearing a Teletubbie hat and a superman costume they werent designed to go perfectly into each other

Ah, I was a bit angry after I realized my armor has a clippping problem but in the end when i play with my Ranger i usaly look from his back there the clipping can not be seen.
Now I'm chilled and will just hav to live with that, I'm more of a perfectionist and it made me a bit frustraded. But It's only a game, servers will die sooner or later.

Priest Of Sin, you have crashed my hopes about Necro FoW.
